Standard pricing for key services to inform your care journey.
To comply with the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) hospital price transparency guidelines, ECU Health is providing links below to each of our hospital’s Chargemaster price list. The prices do not always reflect all costs associated with service, and the service may be represented by multiple line items. Per CMS guidelines, the price lists will be updated annually.

Understanding your Hospital Charges
We know it’s complicated.
We know health care is complicated – from treatments and technologies to how much it will actually cost. As part of our mission to improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina, we want to give you as much information as possible about the care you and your family receive.
We are here for you.
If you have questions, please call the ECU Health billing office at 252-847-4472 or toll free at 800-788-4473 and speak to a team member Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
We know health care is a hardship for some patients and families so we provide help to determine if you qualify for Medicaid or other assistance. Department of Social Services employees are on site at some ECU Health locations.
We want to help you understand.
As a starting point for understanding the cost of care, we are sharing general pricing and reimbursement information below for each inpatient and outpatient service or item provided by ECU Health hospitals. Given the large number of services provided by our hospitals, there may be thousands of charges listed.
Your actual cost will depend on the specific care you receive and what type of insurance you have. For example, health insurance companies and government agencies like Medicare and Medicaid pay hospitals based on a contracted or regulated rate, which is usually less than the amount hospitals charge. If you have insurance, what you pay for care is determined by things like your co-pay and deductible. The cost for uninsured patients is different from those with coverage.
